Abstract
A blood-agar cell-free medium is described, suitable for the isolation and growth of both Trypanosoma gambiense and T. rhodesiense. On this medium, growth is heavy so that the trypanosomes can be obtained in large quantities from small inocula. Subsequently, they can be concentrated almost as desired in a suspension which is practically medium-free. The medium is simple, easily prepd. and stable. It appears to have advantages over those previously described.
