Abstract
A virus which is pathogenic for mice has been isolated from a pool containing the brains of six fruit bats ( Eidolon helvum ). The virus is not a strain of rabies virus. Serological tests indicate that it is probably a previously undescribed agent for which the name of Lagos Bat Virus is proposed. Keywords
