Abstract
The incubation conditions for isolated rat liver nuclei were studied by means of nucleic acid determinations and observations under the light microscope. A part of the ribonucleic acid (RNA) labeled in vivo was transferred from the nuclei to the surrounding medium during incubation in vitro. This RNA appears in the post microsomal and cell sap fraction. The transfer process was performed without degradation to dialyzable products. The transferable RNA was about 15% of the total RNA. It was synthesized rapidly in the nucleus and disappeared from there rapidly. Its specific activity surpassed that of the RNA remaining in the nuclei. The rapidly labeled RNA was labeled throughout the whole molecule and was degraded quickly during incubation in vitro. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
