Abstract
The governing equation for a steady two‐dimensional MHD boundary‐layer flow is shown to depend upon certain proper assumptions which result in simplification and approximation. Improper assumptions such as a constant free‐stream velocity as well as a zero hydrostatic pressure gradient yield an equation which does not actually represent any physical model of an MHD boundary‐layer flow on a flat plate.
