Abstract
In a two laser experiment, O2 molecules are excited to the υ=7 vibrational level in the A 3Σ+u electronic state by pulsed ultraviolet light. The temporal evolution of the excited O2 is monitored via resonantly enhanced ionization through the C 3Πg Rydberg state. A rate constant for removal of υ=7 state of (2.8±0.6)×10−11 cm3 s−1 by O2 is measured. Keywords
