Chiral Resolutions in SFC: Mechanisms and Applications with Various Chiral Stationary Phases

Abstract
The use of various chiral stationary phases (CSPs) in subcritical or supercritical fluid chromatography (SubFC or SFC) is investigated. A better understanding of chiral recognition mechanisms is then possible from the direct comparison of liquid chromatographic and SubFC results, especially when diastereomeric inclusion complexes are formed during the separation process. Several examples of applications on Pirkle-type, ChiralCel OB, ChiralPak OT(+), and Cyclobond CSPs are given. As a rule, higher resolution per unit of time is observed in SubFC.
