Controlled study of the prevalence of T strain mycoplasmata in males with non-gonococcal urethritis.

Abstract
The prevalence of T strain mycoplasmata was investigated in patients suffering from non-gonococcal urethritls and in 2 groups of male controls. T strain mycoplasmata were isolated from 66% of 45 patients suffering from non-gonococcal urethritis, from 61 % of 36 patients with gonorrhea, and from 48% of 54 normal controls. These differences are not statistically significant. The possible reasons for the difference between the findings obtained in this survey and those in previous controlled investigations are discussed.
