Abstract
We show in this work that the one-electron approximation as applied to studies of the energy bands of transition metals can be successfully used to calculate the distribution of photoelectrons in the X-ray excited electron spectra of pure transition and noble metals. Photoelectron spectra of alloys may differ markedly from the energy distribution of electrons in the same alloys. Furthermore, in calculating the X-ray excited electron spectra of alloys one should take into account a difference between scattering properties of the constituent atomic centers. Detailed investigations on Cu, Pd and Ag metals and Cu-Pd, Cu-Mn and Ag-Pd alloys are carried out here. Keywords
