Abstract
ELEVATION of serum diastase has been found in the great majority of adult patients with mumps.1 2 3 4 5 6 The increased levels may assist in establishing the diagnosis in doubtful cases. Most of the studies were performed on soldiers in epidemics of parotitis during the war. Examinations of the serum diastase in children have been rare.
