Individual Isolation of Infected Animals in a Single Room

Abstract
Animals ranging in size from the mouse to the dog and monkey are kept in cages which are enclosed in airtight metal cubicles which are ventilated by forced draft, the incoming and outgoing air being filtered. The cubicles can be disconnected from the ventilation system and removed to another room without being opened. This airtight cubicle system with forced draft operates satisfactorily and excludes contact infections. Animals infected with 2 different highly infectious diseases can be studied simultaneously without cross infection.
