Abstract
A patient is described in whom adrenal insufficiency resulted from failure of adrenocorticotropin secretion. Thyroidal function was normal and gonadal function was only questionably impaired. At autopsy, the basophil cells of the anterior pituitary gland were markedly decreased in number. The hypothalamus was normal.Keywords
