Sarcoidosis may involve skeletal muscle.1 Although some reviews2-4 leave the impression this may be uncommon, other reports5-7 suggest this is because it is not always looked for. In muscle biopsy specimens from four patients with sarcoidosis, Myers et al.5 found typical lesions in three, although there was nothing to suggest these had produced any symptoms. Maurice6 had a patient with muscular dystrophy due to sarcoidosis and then found muscular lesions in 7 of 12 other cases with sarcoidosis. I report a case presenting with a muscular dystrophy.
