Electronic specific heats of ordered and disordered FePd, in relation to hydrogen solubility

Abstract
The electronic specific heat coefficients (γ) of ordered and disordered FePd3 were measured as part of an effort to understand the enhanced hydrogen solubility in the ordered material. γ for disordered FePd3 is higher by 38% whereas its Debye characteristic temperature (θD) is lower by 4%. The hydrogen solubility does not show a positive correlation with the density of states at the Fermi level.
