Abstract
Concentrations of N-methyl-N[image]-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine [a radiomimetic agent] and N-methyl-N-nitroso-p-toluenesulfonamide, which temporarily inhibit the growth of Euglena gracilis Z, inhibit the synthesis of DNA, RNA, and protein. Nucleic acid synthesis (both RNA and DNA) is inhibited immediately, and protein synthesis becomes inhibited after 45-60 min.
