Abstract
One method has been developed for estimating phase-to-phase clearances to withstand switching surge voltages and lightning surges in substations. Consideration has been given to the simultaneous occurrence of opposite polarity switching surges on adjacent phases, and propagating characteristics of lightning surges on the transmission lines.Keywords
