Interdomain and domain defect interactions in kdp

Abstract

A synthesis is presented of interactions observable in the KDP domain structure below 100°K: interactions between domain tips, which follow the classical behavior of edge-type dislocations, and interactions between domain tips and certain mechanical imperfections (defects, sample boundaries). The Burgers vectors associated with the twinning dislocation assemblies lying at the domain tips is several thousand Angstroms in magnitude.
