Abstract
The evidence concerning the existence or absence of uniform alveolar ventilation,the magnitude of uneven ventilation,the principal theories concerning the nature or mechanisms of alveolar ventilation,and the physiologic significance of uniformity of alveolar ventilation is discussed.Keywords
