Abstract
In puppies, the amt. of Ca laid down in the bones and the level in the serum varied directly with the Ca intake. Prolonged injn. of parathyroid extract did not change the degree of calcification of the bones of puppies on diets rich, adequate or poor in Ca, and ceased soon to raise the blood Ca of puppies on diets rich or adequate in Ca. Low Ca diets caused a decrease in serum Ca and a profound depression in parathyroid treated puppies. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
