Abstract
Medical treatment of peptic ulcer disease has been dramatically altered by the identification and characterization of parietal receptors and by the development of such drugs as histamine H2-receptor blockers and H-K-ATPases. Progress should enable us to identify persons predisposed to ulcer disease and to prevent its development. Keywords
