Abstract
The block state variable form is investigated as a technique to increase the parallelism of a filter. This increase in parallelism allows more parallel processors to be usefully applied to the problem, resulting in a faster processing rate than is possible in the unblocked form. Upper and lower bounds on the sample period bound and the number of processors required to support it are determined. Keywords
