Abstract
A method is descr. for the partial purification of the citrate oxidation factor (COF). This is a compound required by cell-free yeast extracts for the metabolism of citrate by a pathway apparently outside of, and additive to, the normal tricarboxylic acid cycle. COF is a weakly basic compound, free from P. Its possible structure is discussed in the light of this and other data. Keywords
