Brainstem Tumors in Children

Abstract
The case histories of 48 patients were reviewed in whom the diagnosis of brainstem tumor was made by autopsy examination, surgical visualization, X-ray air contrast study, or clinical evidence alone. The vital statistics, symptomatology, and neurologic findings in theses patients are presented. The diagnostic criteria found on air contrast study are pointed out and their importance emphasized. Clinical remission occurred in 24 of the 37 patients treated with radiotherapy.
