Abstract
Sartorius muscles of Rana pipiens were stimulated electrically, and threshold voltages were recorded for square waves of several durations in the range of 0.02-50 msec. Dihydro-[beta]-erythroidine was used to eliminate stimulation of muscle through nerve. Blair''s method was used to analyze the data from 22 expts. Mephenesin (0.025, 0.05, and 0.1%) and P105 (0.1%) both caused significant increase in rheobase (R), the time constant of excitation (k), and stability [image].
