Abstract
In white female rats, accumulations of neurosecretory material were observed around the blood vessels in the median eminence by use of aldehyde-fuchsin staining. At some points in the stalk, neurosecretory fibers were observed which departed from the hypothalamo-hypophyseal tract and traveled across the stalk to the pars tuberalis. Neurosecretory material was also visualized around and within the portal vessels in the region of the pars tuberalis. It is postulated that the neurosecretory material and the portal vessels might constitute the neurovascular link between the hypothalamus and the pars distalis. Keywords
