Abstract
The transition from quasiperiodicity to chaos is studied by a "momentum space" renormalization-group method similar to that employed in phase-transition studies. A perturbative expansion in a universality class parameter is developed, and approximate analytic expressions for the spectra as well as for one of the critical exponents are obtained and are in excellent agreement with previous numerical evaluations. Keywords
