Abstract
CISPLATIN (cis-diamminedichloroplatinum) has been tested extensively against various solid tumors and has become commercially available. Recently, we saw two patients who had positive responses to the direct antiglobulin test while they were receiving cisplatin; one had overt hemolysis when challenged with the drug.Case ReportsCase 1In September 1977, a 19-year-old man underwent left orchidectomy and retroperitoneal lymphadenectomy for a mixed embryonal cell and malignant teratoma. Adjuvant cisplatin, 70 mg every three weeks, was given, for a total of 1680 mg. In February 1979, while he was receiving cisplatin, fever developed, accompanied by dark urine, a fall in hemoglobin . . .Keywords
