Dynamic Response of a Restrained Sphere in a Fluid

Abstract
The dynamic response of a structure surrounded by a fluid depends on the physical properties of the fluid as well as those of the structure itself. The following is a study of the behavior of a simple spherically shaped structure restrained elastically and submerged in a viscous fluid. This system (depicted in Fig. 1) can be considered a model for a submerged structure with a single degree of freedom.
