Abstract
A review of progress since the papers of Doudoroff and Katz (1950, 1953). Studies in the United Kingdom, Canada and United States are reported. It is emphasized that laboratory studies of resistance of fishes to various pollutants are unreliable guides as to whether or not a fish can live with these pollutants under natural conditions. There is a need for field studies. Some are now in progress, but such studies are very difficult to design and control. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
