Abstract
The 20,000-dalton variant of human growth hormone stimulated production of somatomedins in the hypophysectomized rat. Somatomedin activity was measured by a radioreceptor assay. The results indicate that the insulin-like activities of human growth hormone that are greatly diminished in the variant are not prerequisites for somatomedin production.Keywords
