Abstract
Extensive cortical lesions in the prestriate visual cortex of 2 monkeys resulted in transitory disturbance of visually mediated habits. One animal with lesions in the temporal cortex showed similar temporary disturbance of visual habits and retardation in relearning color, pattern, and brightness discrimination. No visual difficulties followed ablation of frontal eye-fields in 2 monkeys. It is concluded that a temporal focus for visual capacities has been demonstrated.
