Abstract
THE objectives of treatment of the pregnant woman with epilepsy are to maintain the patient in a seizure-free state while minimizing when possible the adverse effects of the seizure disorder on the course of the pregnancy and the possible teratogenetic effects of some anticonvulsant agents on the fetus.Unless otherwise specifically indicated, the discussion in this paper will focus on primary generalized seizures (tonic–clonic or grand mal), including partial complex seizures that become generalized.Seizure Frequency in PregnancyPregnant women with epilepsy can be divided into two categories: those identified as having epilepsy before their child was conceived and in . . .Keywords
