RÔLE OF THE KIDNEY IN RESISTANCE TO ISCHEMIC COMPRESSION SHOCK

Abstract
Anesthetized dogs were subjected in pairs to ischemic compression shock. Half of the dogs were nephrectomized, the other half sub-jected to sham operation. The results suggest that the presence of the kidneys may produce a slightly higher mean arterial pressure during the period of ischemic compression shock. However, the overall survival time is not changed.
