Expansion for the effective action of an interacting quantum field theory in curved space

Abstract
A natural modification of the DeWitt-Schwinger technique is applied to derive an expansion for the one-loop effective action for λ theory in curved spacetime. Explicit calculation is performed through terms which are second order in the curvature or in derivatives of the mean field.
