Abstract
Endrin granules and dust and ryania dust were tested for control of the sugar-cane borer (Diatraea saccharalis (F.)) in corn at Angleton, Texas, in 1956. All 3 reduced infestations, granules being the most and ryania the least effective. Yield of corn was increased threefold with both endrin formulations, and ryania gave a smaller increase. The treatments were too expensive for use on corn of the same yield potential, but the results indicate the possibility of developing practical insecticidal control measures.
