Tetraploidy in Antirrhinum majus Induced by Sanguinarine Hydrochloride

Abstract

Treatment of terminal growing points of seedlings of Antirrhinum var. White Prosperity with 0.2% sanguinarine hydrochloride soln. (a drop placed on the tip) induced tetraploidy in at least 5% of the plants as against 4% tetraploidy induced in the same expt. by use of colchicine.
