Blutmastzellen und Heparin

Abstract
A phenol-water extract of leukemic leukocytes, exposed to tryptic digestion, contains a metachromatic stainable and heat stable substance which resembles heparin. It is inactivated by protamin, and the paper chromatographic isolated substance shows a metachromatic reaction with toluidine blue. It contains no protein or peptide material, and is/thought to be a derivative of basophile leukocytes.
