Abstract
The structure of mompain, a metabolite of Helicobasidium mompa, was established as 2,5,7,8 -tetrahydroxy-1,4 -naphthoquinone. Deoxy-helicobasin was isolated and its structure was elucidated. Biosynthesis of helicobasidin was studied and its isoprenoid origin was clarified.
