Abstract
This paper extends the earlier work on the theoretical compressive strength of perfect‐diamond cubic crystals under [100] loading to the case of [111] loading for which they are found to be much stronger. From this it is inferred that the compressive strength of perfect diamond loaded in the [111] direction is 4.1 Mbars. Keywords
