Abstract
With decreasing Ca, life span of unfertilized eggs increased progressively until at 1/12 the normal concn. the duration of life at 21[degree]C was tripled. The effect was due in part to higher acidity in the exp. solutions. With pH constant at 7.6 life span was doubled. It is possible that pH change may itself affect Ca uptake by the cell.
