To the Editor: In her editorial in the February 21 issue, Dr. Dritz points out that emotional stresses arising from the traditional moral and social stigmas associated with homosexuality may lead homosexual patients to conceal their sexual orientation from their physicians.1 Since male homosexual contact has been associated with a variety of bacterial, viral, and protozoal diseases and with several traumatic problems, it is vital that physicians not only become familiar with these conditions but also become comfortable in eliciting a complete sexual history from their patients.A survey conducted during the summer of 1978 included 586 randomly selected participants . . .
