Accidental profound hypothermia and barbiturate intoxication. A report of rapid "core" rewarming by peritoneal dialysis

Abstract

In a case of profound hypothermia, peritoneal dialysis was utilized with a dual purpose, removing barbi-turate and rewarming the "core" in advance of the "shell." Recovery without any sequela occurred from a body temperature 69.8[degree]F (21[degree]C).
