Abstract
Urines of pregnancy and menopause were administered to infantile and adult rats. Ovaries were examined and sectioned 4-7 days later. Qlut (coef. of luteinization) = l/n-1000 where l=mgm. of luteal tissue produced and n = quantity of urine injected in cc. Using small amts. of pregnancy urine the Qlut was as great as 8000-9000. Greater quantities did not increase luteal tissue in linear proportion. The urine of menopause of 5 of 6 women produced luteinization when sufficient quantities were administered. The Qlut varied from 2 to 100.
