Abstract
"Immunological paralysis" of mice with large doses of pneumococcal polysaccharide was shown to be type-specific. Mice receiving 500 [mu]g. of pneumococcal type VI polysaccharide and then 0.1 [mu]g. of type II polysaccharide survived challenges with 10,000 M.L.D. of pneumococcus type II. Mice given "paralyzing doses" and then immunizing doses of type II polysaccharide failed to survive homologous challenges of 10 M.L.D.Keywords
