Abstract
No difference in initial growth rate was found in subcultures in broth seeded from cultures of different age (2-72 hrs.). Growth was measured by photo-electric nephelometer, by respirometer, by detn. of bacterial N, and by viable counts. The differences in rate of multiplication obtained by the latter method were shown to be due entirely to differences in the average size of the cells in the transplant. This publication has 13 references indexed in Scilit:
