Abstract
When various mating types of Escherichia coli were exposed to solutions of Tris + EDTA, a differential toxicity was noted. The male strains were very sensitive. The data from mating experiments suggested that the ability to conjugate is not destroyed by the brief treatment with Tris + EDTA. When females are converted to males, survival drops from 99 to 14%.This publication has 14 references indexed in Scilit:
