Abstract
The increased volatility and lowered polarity of the trifluoroacetic anhydride (TFAA) derivatives of fatty amines and amides permit the separation by GLC of mixed saturated and unsaturated homologues using conventional columns. This technique is also useful in the analysis of hydroxyl containing compounds.
