Current Therapy for Carcinoma of the Bladder

Abstract
Treatment of carcinoma of the bladder depends on the stage of the lesion. Superficial tumors can be removed with transurethral electroresection. With more advanced but local lesions, electroresection and interstitial irradiation may be preferred. When the carcinoma infiltrates the wall, partial resection, total cystectomy, supervoltage irradiation or chemotherapy or combinations of these are usually necessary.
