Abstract
When cultures of human leukocytes are treated with tritiated thymidine and cytosine arabinoside, it is observed that all of the aberrations induced by the cytosine arabinoside are induced in unlabeled (G2) cells. Furthermore, very few labeled cells reach metaphase, indicating that the cells in S at the time of treatment are either slowed or stopped in their progression to metaphase. The time from the end of S to metaphase is estimated to be 2 ½ to 3 ½ h in normal cultures.
