Metabolism of S35-Parathion in the House Fly1

Abstract
Metabolism of S35-parathion by Musca domestica L. gave 2 S35-metabolites, i.e., diethyl phosphorothioic acid produced by direct degradation and inorganic sulfate derived from the activation reaction. Sesamex inhibited production of both metabolites in vivo, indicating the importance of oxidative enzymes in the degradation as well as activation of parathion in the house fly.
