Abstract
A thirteen-year-old female with cretinism and a goiter took up most of a tracer dose of radioactive I. However, the radioactive iodide was discharged from the gland upon admn. of KSCN. This form of cretinism is thought to be due to a failure of the gland to convert iodide into a hormonal complex. Keywords
